Tracking, Learning and Sharing (TLS)

Discover how the ARA is dedicated to enriching learning by actively involving its members and partners as well as the research community in monitoring, evaluation, and assessment activities. It also focuses on improving knowledge sharing and fostering supportive peer-to-peer networks across both research and action communities, creating a collaborative and vibrant environment for growth.

The ARA is committed to improving learning by better engaging the research community in monitoring, evaluation, and assessment activities, as well as enhancing knowledge management and peer-to-peer networks across the research and action communities.

ARA’s Tracking, Learning, and Sharing (TLS) activities accomplish this by creating and implementing a framework and systems that will enable ARA members, their partners, and other stakeholders collectively to:

  • Monitor their progress in achieving the ARA outcomes.
  • Actively learn what works and what does not when designing, conducting, and using action-oriented research on climate change adaptation.
  • Share knowledge with one another and with other stakeholders in the adaptation ecosystem.

This concept note provides a detailed overview of ARA’s TLS approach. TLS are led by members. Activities have been devised through a consultative process in which ARA members collaboratively developed and mapped out the long-term agenda for tracking progress, learning, and sharing knowledge. This approach ensures that activities reflect the diverse ideas and priorities of prospective members and account for their varying capabilities and access to resources.

This provides a condensed overview of this framework.
