Shared learning process on understanding climate risk
Read key insights from ARA’s shared learning process on climate risk, drawing on diverse global research and climate action communities.
Climate risk spans both socio-economic and biophysical dimensions and has been identified by ARA as a critical area for learning and collaboration. Insights from this shared learning process strengthen understanding across climate research and action communities.
Objectives
The shared learning process brought together local, national, and international organisations from across ARA’s global network with three objectives:
- Catalyse peer-to-peer learning on climate risk assessment and management
- Develop a shared understanding of key challenges ARA can address, alongside practices that should be strengthened and scaled
- Build regional networks and communities of practice focused on understanding climate risks
The effective design and implementation of climate action and adaptation initiatives depend on an inclusive understanding of climate risk that reflects the knowledge and experiences of diverse stakeholders.
