Urban resilience programme for strengthening peer learning and urban adaptation
Summary
The Urban Resilience Programme enables funders to design and mobilise finance for high‑impact urban climate adaptation. Led by the Adaptation Research Alliance, the programme builds on the Urban Co‑creation Space launched in 2023 and the development of the Strengthening and Enhancing Contextual Urban Resilience (SECURe) framework.
The programme supports cities to understand how institutional, political, economic, and cultural factors shape climate risk and adaptation outcomes. Through Urban Resilience Labs, it brings together city governments, researchers, practitioners, and communities to co‑design action‑oriented research and solutions.
The programme also develops practical tools, including an AI‑powered analytical and knowledge facility, to support learning across cities. A core objective is to scale this approach through a Global Hub for organisations facilitating Urban Resilience Labs. The Hub will strengthen peer learning, reduce duplication, lower setup costs, and increase the effectiveness of urban adaptation investments.
