Workshop report: Meat Naturally Pty and Hlankomo villagers meeting in South Africa

Summary

In March 2022, members of Cape Climate Collective (CCliC) completed fieldwork in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where they joined Lima Rural Development Foundation, Meat Naturally Pty and Hlankomo villagers in co-creation workshops on the local climate change vulnerabilities.

Project outcomes: i) Co-designed identification of the primary climate change impacts in Hlankomo village, namely: Fires; Wattle (alien invasive species); Drought; and Heavy rains, storms and floods. ii) Awareness and knowledge sharing about climate change globally and in South Africa iii) Networking with similar researchers, projects and organisations iv) A detailed research report, providing insight into the socioecological vulnerabilities of pastoralist communities in the village v) Presentations, images and research video.
