The Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA) worked alongside Alliance member Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) to interview researchers and practitioners working on the frontline of climate adaptation about how the Global Stocktake (GST) can integrate local action on adaptation.
The result was a video representing on-the-ground insights into the barriers to getting local actions reflected in global assessments of adaptation progress and how adaptation assessments can be more locally-led. Examples were also provided of community-led data collection, and dimensions of well-being that we should consider for understanding effective adaptation were shared.
Drawing from its members and partners throughout the Global South, the video paints an important picture of the adaptation experiences of those in communities most vulnerable to climate change impacts.
