The goal of Science Missions is to elevate the collaboration between science, policy, and society to new heights to produce actionable integrated knowledge and find solutions that match the scale of humanity’s most critical sustainability challenges. Each Mission will focus on mobilising coordinated, collective science-based actions towards addressing complex sustainability challenges at the global, regional and local levels.
This call invites novel collaborative consortia of scientists and scientific organisations, policymakers, non-governmental organisations, communities, and the private sector, working on the cutting edge of identifying solutions for complex sustainability challenges, to co-design Science Missions for sustainability over an initial 18-month period.

As part of this call, the International Science Council is also building a coalition of partners and funders to support the selected missions. The idea is to organise matchmaking events between the shortlisted proposals and funders to mobilise the required funding. If your organisation is interested to be part of those discussions/events, please contact Katsia Paulavets, ISC Senior Science Officer, at katsia.paulavets@council.science.
