ARA Steering Board Member Prof Saleemul Huq speaks about learning from local communities.
The Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA) links researchers working in adaptation with those at the forefront of climate change. As it happens, those communities are in developing countries where the impacts of a changing climate are having the most devastating effects.
ARA Steering Board member Prof Saleemul Huq, who is Director at the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), explains how their knowledge and local-led solutions have a role to play in informing effective adaptation solutions that can increase their resilience now and in the future.
“As it happens, the most impacted regions around the world are poor developing countries in Asia and Africa, at least 50 vulnerable developing countries who are at the forefront of tackling climate change as we speak.”
