Bijal Brahmbhatt talks about the action research aspects of Mahila Housing Trust’s projects.
The Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA) has co-developed a framework for action research in adaptation that results in the co-development of solutions alongside those who are at the forefront of climate change. These principles are in action by those working with the Mahila Housing Trust (MHT) in Bangladesh.
Bijal Brahmbhatt, director of MHT, speaks about the role of collaboration in creating effective solutions. She discusses the value of local input compared to solutions being brought in by those living outside of the Indian context or through helicopter research.
“We build coalitions and collectives of poor women in the informal sector, develop their capacities to be able to understand the complex phenomena of climate change.”
Bijal Brahmbhatt, MHT
