The ARA is a coalition representing the global adaptation community. Together, we are committed to Adaptation Research for Impact that supports climate resilient futures.

Our members are researchers, funders, policymakers, development bodies, and community-based organisations. We encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange among these members and support their access to investment and opportunities for action-oriented research for adaptation.

ARA members are connected to the international adaptation community including a diverse set of funders, policymakers, researchers, NGOs, and organisations representing on-the-ground expertise.

• Build collaborative partnerships

From this network of stakeholders, members can build agile, transdisciplinary partnerships and collaborations, especially between institutions and researchers that represent the Global South and North.

• Share action research learning

Members share new practices for supporting and implementing action-oriented research for adaptation as part of a peer-to-peer learning environment where research is ‘user-friendly’ and actionable for local actors.

• Engage in decision-making dialogues

Members jointly advocate for shifts in policy, finance flows, and improved standards of action and research to enable effective adaptation to climate change

• Enhance resource mobilisation

Members benefit from new resources, programmes and activities that are developed or supported through the ARA as it catalyses and scales up investment in Adaptation Research for Impact.
