Laura Owings Rawden

Laura Laura is the Advocacy & Communications Lead for the Adaptation Research Alliance. She is a communications professional and founder of South African media agency, Locomedia. With a background in science and international media, she specialises in crafting engaging stories around technical and in-depth information. Her passion is the intersection between development goals, entrepreneurialism, and social justice in developing countries, specifically sub-Saharan Africa. She is also an outspoken proponent for supporting and uplifting Black African womxn in STEMI. Laura is a member and past Chair of the Southern African Freelancers Association (SAFREA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a master’s degree in International Journalism & Media.
