George Lakey

George is a Programme Manager and the lead designer and implementer of the ACU's new early career researcher development programme, the 'Commonwealth Futures Climate Research Cohort', a programme designed to support a pipeline of researchers with the necessary capacities to contribute to climate action research.

With expertise in managing international research capacity strengthening initiatives, George has historically managed the FCDO-funded Climate Impacts Research Capacity and Leadership Enhancement (CIRCLE) programme, the UK BEIS and Waitrose & Partners-funded Blue Charter Fellowships, and has led the ACU's contribution to the design of research capacity strengthening within the FCDO-IDRC CLimate Adaptation & REsilience (CLARE) programme.
